Joseph "Jay" R. Koerner Jr.

Jay grew up in South Jersey (Barrington), went to high school at Haddon Heights, then attended college at Drexel University where he got dual degrees in Marketing and Engineering. After years spent as a Business Development specialist and Test Systems Engineer at Fort Monmouth, he began his career in Real Estate in the late 90's, initially buying small investment property, then teaching others the "ins and outs" of investing in real estate, then finally helping people buy and sell residential property.

Jay grew up a fan of every local Philly sports team while also playing various sports, with tennis being his biggest early obsession. He also played football, baseball and later golf and bowling (and once threw a 300 game!). He's been playing fantasy football (and other fantasy sports) for many years, and imagines himself a great "pretend team manager," although his league mates would probably disagree. He recently discovered pickleball, and after just a few short weeks is already hooked!

A lifelong reader, starting with scifi and fantasy but branching out into the classics and other genres, he is often found with his nose in a book. He fancies himself a good writer, currently working on two novels, but not as good as his favorite author, Dean Koontz (by a nose over J.K. Rowling). His favorite story is A Christmas Carol (by a nose over about 1000 other books). Some would say that if you want to be a well rounded person you should try to read 12 to 15 books a year; Jay would say, "that's a fine goal for January."

Jay is a dog person and has always supported local animal rescues. He currently has "only" two former rescue dogs as roommates - Jussie and Ozzie - but if he could afford to live on a farm he would probably be the dog version of a "cat lady," limited in pack size only by the size of the farm.
